Sorry, not going to provide my name and email when not part of necessary functionality of an app. Don’t trust most developers with personally identifying information. I’d prefer an anonymized Apple email / ID option.

Was a very good app. I had both the standard and paid. Did not use for a while. Went to the field and opened app. It wanted internet connection and email address stuff. BS. No thanks. I am in the field people no internet. Both versions have been deleted now.
Used this app for years and it was great for measuring groups and storing load data. Something most other apps don’t have. Then after an update it won’t let me access anything without first/last name and email address. There is NO reason for the app to need this info and it’s impossible to retrieve my stated target and load data without it. This app went from great to garbage in one update. Extremely disappointed. I hope they come to their senses and remove the requirement, until then I would avoid it.
Had the app for years, and AFTERWARDS changes their policy and THEN requires name and email addy or he won’t let you use it. Absolutely no reason other than to sell the info. Go your app elsewhere, not from this person!
I have been using this app for about 3 years. It has been extremely handy & helpful. I learned a lot about ballistics in general and its effect on my loads w/ different calibers. Unfortunately, because I don't buy the latest iphones and I choose to stay behind the high cost curve, I seem to be a victim of app failure. After a notification of an update, I followed suit and updated. The program now crashes upon attempt to open. There was no warning about incompatibility. I sent a message to the developers, requesting a link to the older version. They insist that they are "not allowed" to offer that, and that Apple "requires" them to only support the latest version of software. I personally doubt this is 100% accurate, since I have other apps that prevent me from updating, due to incompatibility. Nevertheless, this app was great while it lasted (for me). If they'd address this update issue, it would be worth the 5 stars. I am niw forced to look for another app.
Took a 6.5 CM to an 850 us range nearby and tried my luck at 500-600/700-800-850. Rang the bell on every first shot using this software “come ups”. Made a lot of math easy.
Lots of caliber's lots of grains etc Really fun app and he visuals are excellent
If you shoot, and like the science of ballistics, and use it to improve your understanding and performance, this is the app for you.
Once you under stand the user interface, there is a lot useful pictures that can be saved by using the Favorites command. You can start with basic trajectories and go all the way to very technical thousand yard shots.
I've used this program in shooting high power NRA matches. Once I get my velocities it's a snap to get my dope out to 1000 yards, which is as far as I shoot. I zero at either 100 or 200 yards, load all my data, and create a spreadsheet with the drops, windage, and clicks for the scope I'm using. I've never been off paper using numerous loads and numerous distances. Can't say all the programs I've tried have worked as well.
App is still buggy despite raising these issues with the developer. I am still having issues with 1. Exporting data via email. 2. Downloading current atmosphere. I'm not the only one. Requests for popular loads such as the Hornady Precision Hunter line and new Hornady ELD and ELD-X have yet to been added. "Obscure" requests like Australian Outback loads have been ignored. When all aspects work correctly it's a great solver, wish it was updated more frequently.
Does everything you need quickly and easily and allows you to store your trajectory charts. Good list of bullets (or enter your own detail ) and lots of flexibility. Good for everyone from pro long range shooter to a guy sighting in a deer rifle.
There is far more information than would be necessary for the average guy using this app for hunting (which I do). I recommend some type of advanced tab when/if someone (a mercenary sniper) wants the full option display. I have a hard time finding many of my ammunition listed and they are not one off companies. I have a hard time finding the actual hornaday ammo I buy in the app. I would love to see a more robust list of ammos.
The calculations are spot on if you input your own weather data. The automated weather finder used to work until last fall and now won't work at all. I emailed the support staff over a month ago and they are aware of it but it doesn't look like they are going to fix it. Six months is plenty of time to fix a small bug in the system. And since incorrect weather data will throw the entire calculation off, it's pretty much useless u less you have some other source for weather data. Now that you have to pay for the app, I wouldn't buy it.
The custom projectile function is incredible. As we create our new line of .308 JB's, this app hasn't failed us once. The ability to quickly compare our rounds to those currently on the market is extremely useful. Thanks, Z Force
Best app I have. Start shooting when I was nine, now sixty-nine, and still was puzzled about bullet performance. I always wondered why published data never matched real world results. A $100 ProChrono chronograph and this app really changed my outlook, expanded my knowledge and enjoyment of reloading and shooting.
This app might cost a little more but it's has all the things you need while shooting in one place. I reload and I can track loads, groups and ballistics in one place.
Love this app! I collected some data on my bullet (fps) and plugged it into the app along with all the other info it needs and was able to make a 400 yard shot on the first shot
One of the best apps on my phone. Mot useful than you can ever imagine.
Top of the line
This is a great tool!
Far and away my favorite pocket ballistic computer.
I use my ballistic app almost daily. All my chronograph loads are compiled. For me this app is the very best. Highly recommend. Jack 2nd review. I have never had a lockup or failure of any kind. It's my constant partner at the range. When hunting, I keep it ready for use with the rangefinder. Jack
The developer has been more than helpful in listening to his users. We've given him a ton of feedback and requests. He's been able to update immediately making this app better. This app has helped come in 1st place, in matches held in locations I've never shot at.
I have used several ballistic programs and this one is the best by far. Wish i could select reticle for my scope and build HUD custom to my reticle and Ballistics card.
Meh.....Fair at best. No LOS vs true ballistic range. The 3 sec delay on shot angle does not work on my IPhone. Nothing special. Pricy for what it does.
Title says it all. Having recently gone through us army sniper school i found the app comes up with the same hold overs as the ballistic calculator we used in school. Only thing was, we could choose to use it in yards or meters and from the get go we were taught it all in meters. Feels like using this there is just that added step now for converting the ranges we produce in meters to yards to get the proper hold over.
This is an excellent app for Reloaders and Target shooters. It has a comprehensive projectile and factory load database. The controls are easy to use and almost everything can be customized. The range log is great for target logging. This app is severly limited for tactical and hunting use. The rangefinder only supports standard mil-dot reticles. The HUD does not display true click values, it adds a decimal place. If you are looking for a field ranging and solutions app there are better options out there.
This app is an incredible value. Don't think twice about buying it. It uses the proven JBM computer for ballistic calculation and also provides numerous tools to aid in almost every aspect of shooting. This app is very well supported and always improving.
I love this app! Both of my teams use it. But right now we are red Saran wrapping our phones so we don't kill our eyesight at night when using your app! If you added a simple button somewhere to select a red filter on the screen you would be a life saver! Thanks and keep up the good work!
Great app. Would like to see the addition of handgun hunting rounds such as .500S&W and .460S&W magnums.
I love this app. Extremely useful. BUT: I have had trouble with the new version: under iOS5.1.1 (iPad), I am unable to use the JBM computer. I have a message telling me to check my settings like maximum range. If I choose the "Ballistic" computer, it's fine. I checked all parameters and reset everything to factory standard. No succees. Under iOS 6.0 (iPhone), same problem PLUS a message box coming when I use the "ballistic" computer telling me that it cannot compute spin drift and coriolis. It is to be noted that the "chart" displays ok with the "JBM" computer but not the "table". An excellent app but the new version needs a little debugging. Still strongly recommend it.
Like the truing function. It would be nice if it let you measure in mills and not just inches. Would also like both transonic and subsonic marked on the range card. Would make truing more accurate. Would be nice to true for bc past subsonic.
This app is outstanding. Tons of projectiles as well as factory loads to match every shooter's need. A buddy of mine was trying to hit some steel at 200yards with his 22, we punched in the data and he made the first shot going from a 50yard zero to 200 with a quick scope adjustment. One thing I would like to suggest is the addition of factory handgun loads and the ability to select the highest ballistic coefficient (or better yet, allow the user to provide a minimum BC) for a given diameter projectile. This way we can see which bullets are the most aerodynamic. Thanks for a great app!
Just installed ver 3.1 all problems for me created by last 2 updates are gone. Great program. Perfect for my needs. Would give it 5 stars but updates should not cause more problems than they solve
With previous update, could not access ballistic coefficient library. With the newest update( loaded today) when I try to input a bullet/ ballistic coefficient, the program crashes and reverts to my homescreen. Worked great ' til the last two updates.
This is a follow-up to a previous review where I panned the program. After numerous emails back and forth with the developer we traced it back to a misunderstanding on my part regarding the instructions for input into the program. It was my understanding that changing the "Native " field for the drag model also changed the BC to the selected drag model - not so. Subsequently if you change the native model AND the current bullet use model, you will get erroneous results as the program will use the BC for the selected model but apply the BC to the drag model from the manufacturer (native drag model) which might be different. Apples and Oranges. My sincere apologies to the developer for the previous review. That being said, its a good overall program that agrees well with three other ballistics programs we use. I look forward to empirically testing it in the field.
Of all the ballistic apps I have used, this is the most accurate. Disclosure: I am a programmer so I know rounding errors when I see them. This app is accurate. Well done.
The software was great before v2.5.0, now I cannot use the program on my unlocked iphone because it requires iOS 4.2 or greater. Thanks for the wonderful update.
I wish their was a way to save a few 'my rifle's' in the program, so that settings such as sight height, zero range, etc could be pulled up immediately, rather than re-entering the info for every new load that is tested. the program is very capable. much more so, I've found, than the one offered by knights armament. the database of factory loads alone gives it a significant edge, as well as several other important details I've missed in the knights armament app
Liked the app and used it a lot at first. I frequently switched between metric and imperial distance units. Then the app got stuck in imperial. I don't want to loose my favorites so I haven't re-installed the app. Poor documentation and zero support.
Bought this app for the range log feature so I didn't have to keep paper around. Specifically, I liked the ability to plot target hits to compare different range sessions of the same rifle. Unfortunately, the app won't plot the data as shown and there is no support with which to inquire about the problem. I understand that this is just a guy that made this app to be available for other folks with the same interest, but there is a base level of expectation when paying for it that it will work. If it doesn't work, there should be some modicum of support or a user manual. If the function I bought the app for worked, I'd give it 4 stars. As is, it's no more than a trivia toy for ballistics to me. Update- after months of use, I find it's much more useful than I expected. However, I still have operational issues based on platform with the software. Plotting would be a logical feature, but these apple products are heavy on the wrapping, light on the contents. JBM has the best app available. Have upgraded to three stars that could be four easily if the iPhone did its part.
I almost spent twice the amount on the competition until I sat down and compared features. Hands down, you can't beat this application for the cost; the only issue I have with it, was already sent off and I still would rate this app an easy 5 and they haven't even answered my question/request. Semper Fi
This application keeps getting better and better with each update. The calculations are very accurate and the features of the program are plentiful. On a recent hunting trip to Utah for mule deer I got to practice some really long range shooting and it was dead on the money. I love going to the range or field and playing with this app. Keep up the great work and the tweaking of features. You have scored a hit and I recommend it to all my friends and enjoy showing it off when I shoot.
Bought this app when it was way cheaper than what it is now. It's like buying stock in Microsoft when bill gates was still working outta his garage. Thanks for a great app!
Really is a great app, has everything you need, My one complaint is that is doesnt do a 1/10 MOA click for a scope. I own the new HORUS scope and it has a 1/10 MOA click, hoping the author will add it in the next update.
I was VERY skeptical at first, mainly because of the price. I bought it and do not regret a single dollar spent. I have yet to take it to the range, but I've compared the outputs to my other ballistic calculators and everything is spot on. My only gripe which is not big at all, and maybe I just have yet to figure it out; is that for the range log, you cannot input the distance of your target, or zero range. When you come back to that particular log and check the target stats it just says 'unknown distance'. If in fact this is my own ignorance of me not figuring the app out, than please someone show me the light! haha. Seriously, great app, and I look forward to more from this very thorough author. Oh, and not many ballistic apps have 5.7mm, I just got a new optic for my P90 and needed some trajectory charts for the particular round I was using and sure enough, this app had it, BRAVO!!
This software works great. I zeroed my 22lr cz-452 at 40 yards, put in my bullet info and dialed my scope for 200 yards from the info in the software. First round hit right on target. Great product.
This is very well put together. The newest update made it even better. need to add the option to use the distance feature with a MOA reticle instead of just mills. The last update proves that they must use this app or listen to the feedback. I am excited to see what this app has to offer in the future. Maybe using the camera with a reticle to look at a target to get your incline.
